Creative Plate Presentation

I am often asked questions on creative plating. We have all been told that we eat with our eyes first. I believe that to be true. If it doesn’t look appetizing then the chance of people tasting your culinary creation is…shall we say… not so good.

If you want to kick things up a bit and really impress…go for an over the top eye pleasing presentation that not only looks beautiful, delicious and also is fun to dismantle too! The key to an over the top presentation lies in …a simple but elegant and exciting design that also smells, and TASTES amazing! This can be achieved with drawing the eye into the plate with line, shape, texture, colour, harmony, balance, proportion, dominance… doesn’t sound easy does it?

Practice makes perfect. I plan to be incorporating creative plate presentations into my classes. Do you live in the Toronto GTA area or plan on a visit? Would you like to be put on our distribution list to be notified of classes? Well then…go ahead and fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page.
